Juliet Nabwire

Juliet is a 40 year old widow who lives with her 8 children, ages 8 to 23 plus 2 other dependents in the Walukuba area of Jinja. Her husband died from malaria in 2004. She moved to Jinja in 2004 from Busia because her husband had a job on the island. Now she makes a local brew and sells drinks in the port area to earn income and has recently started beading. Her main concerns are paying school fees and being forced to buy the 1 room house that she has been renting, or being forced to move.
