Joan is the eldest of 3 children. They moved to Gangdyang in 2001 because of rebel activity.
Joan’s mother is one of the beaders and she also resells vegetables in the local market. She would like to boost her business but would need more capital. Joan’s father was abducted and killed by LRA rebels 4 years ago.
Joan wants to be a doctor because she doesn’t want to see people suffer. She helps her mother in washing plates and fetching water. She enjoys playing games

Annual sponsorship cost is $120 for primary school fees, uniforms, basic school supplies and supplemental food. The sponsorship amount can be paid annually, or by term at $40 per term. Additional optional amounts up to $300 total may be contributed during the calendar year as a special family gift.
