Amito lives with her mother, father and 2 siblings in a rented home in the Jinja area. The family moved here from Kitgum 10 years ago to flee the war. Amito’s father is not currently working. He used to be a security guard at a local school. Her mother buys and resells produce to earn a small income. She just recently began beading.
Amito likes to help her mother around the house. She is currently learning how to wash plates and plant flowers.
Amito attends a nursery school which is far from her home. She must ride a motorcycle to get there each day. She says English is her best subject. She also likes playing, singing and running.
Annual sponsorship cost is $100 for nursery school fees, uniforms, basic school supplies and supplemental food. The sponsorship amount can be paid annually, or by term at $34 per term. Additional optional amounts up to $300 total may be contributed during the calendar year as a special family gift.
