Faith lives with her mother, her uncle and 3 other siblings in a rented room in the Jinja area. Her father abandoned the family five years ago.
The family came here 20 years ago from Oyan District in northern Uganda because of the war. The rebels killed Faith’s grandparents.
Her mother earns a small income by grinding millet and making posho which she sells. She also does beading. Her mother hopes to get more capital to expand her business. Faith helps her mother by cooking, cleaning and other household duties.
Faith is average in school. She especially likes literature. She would like to be a researcher one day. In her spare time she reads.
Annual sponsorship cost is $650 for secondary school fees, uniforms, and basic school supplies. The sponsorship amount can be paid annually, by term at $217 per term, or monthly via credit card at $55 per month. Additional optional amounts up to $300 total may be contributed during the calendar year as a special family gift.
