Child Sponsorships & Older Youth Scholarships

Primary and Secondary Age Children
Send a hopeful child back to school today! You can make a difference. The Ugandan school year began in mid-Feburary. Most of these children are children of the women beaders. Over half of the remaining waiting children were not in school this past school year due to lack of school fees. Others can attend only sporadically as they keep getting sent home when their parents/guardians cannot pay the full term’s tuition and fees. Others are orphans who have no one who is willing to pay their fees. Children range in age from nursery (about age 4) to as old as 25 (S-6 which is equivalent of the U.S. 12th grade).

Sponsors are especially needed for these older high school age students. Poor parents can seldom afford to keep a child in school once they reach the high school level because the tuition becomes expensive, and teachers expect that serious students will be boarding students. Sponsors act as very important mentors and role models to encourage these older students to achieve their goals in education and in life. In turn, these older students can become important role models for our younger sponsored students. You can greatly influence the outcome of your sponsored child's life.

Your monthly sponsorship payment not only pays for the high school student's tuition but is also providing regular meals for the student and a safe place for the student to live and be able to study with fellow students.

Donate for Vocational and University Scholarships for Older Youth.
Several of our older youth are just 2 to 3 years away from being employable in a particular field of specialization. These older youth are either wanting to join a vocational training program which is from 1 to 3 years in length, or are wanting to complete a diploma or degree course at the university level. Either of these options will drastically increase the chances of these students obtaining meaningful employment which will pay them a decent livable wage.

Many of these older students are children of our women beaders. They have been selected based on academic achievement, leadership skills, work ethic, and desire to help others. Please choose one of these older youth to help with scholarship money. At your option, you may also correspond via letters with this child to encourage and mentor them during their studies.
