Carolyn is from the village of Mede located in northern Uganda. She is the 4th born child among her three sisters and one brother.

English is Carolyn’s favorite subject at school. She hopes to become a doctor someday. Carolyn works hard and has done well in school. She placed in the top 10 in the district (over 1000 students) for girls her age in the national exams when completing her primary level of schooling.

Carolyn helps her parents at home with washing utensils, cooking and fetching firewood. She enjoys playing football and traditional dancing in her free time. Carolyn is active and disciplined.

The annual scholarship for Carolyn to attend secondary school as a day student is $370 which provides her school fees, life skills training, and mentoring and coaching by OU staff. This amount can be paid annually, by term at $123 per term, or via monthly credit card payment of $31 per month. Additional optional amounts up to $300 total may be contributed during the calendar year as a special family gift.
