Transform Lives with Your Donation
Support Our 2025 Priorities:
1. Bench Style Student Desks for 120 students: $2,600 needed
We need 40 bench style desks at $65 each for our increased student population. Each desk seats 3 students. From 2020 to 2025, our school has grown from 500 students to 800 students. We are seeking funding for desks for 120 of these students
2. Boarding Program for Agwata School 6th Graders
-
- Food for 14 Boarding Girls: $1,000 Needed: Support our Girls’ Education Initiative by providing food for 14 sixth-grade girls boarding at our school. Your donation will cover their meals for one term (3 months) and help keep over 150 girls in northern Uganda in school.
- Upgrading of Boarding Facilities to Comply with New Safety Regulations: $3,000 needed: In mid-2024, the government implemented new regulations for school boarding facilities. We need $3,000 to make modifications to comply with the most important regulations.
- A dedicated structure for boarding – $22,000 Needed: Both girls and boys boarding utilizes former student classrooms in our existing structures. This has forced classrooms into temporary makeshift structures. We would like to restore the classroom space by building an actual boarding area.
3. Security Fencing is Urgently Needed for the Teachers’ Living Quarters Area: $10,000 needed with $6000 donated as of mid-July 2025
In Uganda it is standard for all teachers to live on the school grounds and the PTA has used its funds to build mud and thatched roof huts for most teachers. We have agreed to provide security fencing for the teachers’ hut area to prevent vandalism and theft from teachers’ huts and gardens. It also keeps animals from destroying things. There is always concern for fire burning the huts. With funds donated so far, we have purchased all of the cement posts for the fence and have purchased and installed about 60% of the chainlink which is the largest cost. The remaining funds are needed to cover the remaining chain link as well as 3 metal gates.
4. Malaria Treatment Medications: $2,500 Needed
As we head into the biggest rainy season months of the year, additional malaria medications and test strips needed from September to December 2025. Your donation will help us address this urgent health need at a time when Uganda has significantly less health funding resulting in less malaria medicines throughout the country.
5. Home Building Program for Jinja Women
-
- Women’s Program Metal Storage Building: $7,000 Needed: Support the construction of a small storage building for our women’s program. This facility will house two women during the early stages of home construction starting in 2024.
- Water System Infrastructure/Piping: $10,000 Needed: Help us build a sustainable water system for our home ownership project. We need funds for water storage tanks, tank piping, running water supply lines and our first septic tank.
- Electrical Connection for the Storage Building – $2,000 needed
6. Teacher Training and Incentives: $2,000 Needed
Most of our teachers teach from 7am to 5pm and half also work on Saturday morning and some evenings. They have been key to our students’ top performance in our district of 95 schools. Let’s appreciate their efforts and provide monetary recognition of their excellent work.
