Fashi lives in a grass-thatched hut in the village of Agwata in northern Uganda with her parents and eight siblings. Fashi is the second child of nine. She has five brothers and four sisters.

Fashi’s favorite subject at school is math. She would like to become an accountant so she can use her math every day.

At home Fashi helps with farm work, housework and cooking. Beans and posho sauce is her specialty. Fashi also helps take care of her siblings. In her free time, Fashi reads story books and plays games with her friends. Fashi is disciplined and hardworking.

The annual scholarship for Fashi to attend secondary school as a day student is $370 which provides her school fees, life skills training, and mentoring and coaching by OU staff. This amount can be paid annually, by term at $123 per term, or via monthly credit card payment of $31 per month. Additional optional amounts up to $300 total may be contributed during the calendar year as a special family gift.
